About us

Operations first. Technology second.

Mallan Gang Software Ltd was created out of real operational experience and a straightforward frustration: too much good work is slowed down by systems that were never designed around it.

Where we come from

Mallan Gang Software brings together decades of experience across logistics, supply chain, operational management, health & safety and process improvement with modern software development.

We’ve worked inside the environments our software is designed to improve. We understand deadlines, compliance pressures, staff adoption, reporting demands and the realities of keeping an operation moving.

That means we approach software from both sides: how it needs to be built, and how it needs to work in the real world.

What that changes in practice

We ask about the person who will actually use the screen at 6am, in the cold, in a hurry — because if it doesn’t work for them, the data never arrives and the system fails quietly.

We ask what happens when somebody is on holiday, when the process is interrupted, and when the answer is “it depends”. Those are the cases that decide whether software gets adopted or worked around.

And we’re comfortable telling you that a smaller change would solve more than the system you came in asking for.

Our principle

Trusted from the Start

It is the line we put our name to, and it describes how we expect to work from the first conversation onwards.

Responsible development

We build things we are willing to support. That means resisting shortcuts that look faster now and cost more later.

Security taken seriously

Access controls, separation between organisations and careful handling of data are designed in from the first version, not added once something goes wrong.

Clear communication

Plain language, honest timescales, and telling you when something is harder than expected rather than going quiet.

Dependability

Software that people rely on every day has to work every day. We treat reliability as a feature, not an afterthought.

Appropriate access

People see what their role needs and no more. Who can do what is a decision made deliberately, and it is auditable.

Long-term support

We stay with the systems we build. A business changes, and the software has to keep up with it.

Tell us what's not working.

If something in your operation is costing more time than it should, that's a conversation worth having — whether or not it turns into a project.
