This notice covers this website only — www.mallangangsoftware.com. Our products, Marshal and Orivane, each have their own privacy policy and data processing terms, which are provided to users inside those platforms. This notice does not replace them.

What we collect

We collect only what you choose to send us through the forms on this website. From the contact form:

• Your name
• Your business name
• Your email address
• Your telephone number, if you provide one
• Your preferred contact method, if you provide one
• The description of what you would like to improve

From the business website enquiry form, which asks for more so we can quote accurately — only your name, business name, email address and what you want the website to achieve are required, and everything else is optional:

• Your name and business name
• Your email address and telephone number
• Your existing website address, if you have one
• Whether you already own a domain name
• Your business type, the services you offer
• Your town or location and the areas you serve
• Your social media links, if you provide them
• How and when you would prefer to be contacted, if you tell us
• What you would like the website to achieve, and any additional notes you send us

This website does not set analytics or advertising cookies, does not track you across sites, and does not build a profile of you. Our hosting provider processes standard server request logs in order to serve the site securely.

Why we use it, and on what basis

When you submit the business website enquiry form we also send a short confirmation to the email address you provide, acknowledging the enquiry and setting out what happens next. It is a one-off message about your own enquiry, not marketing.

We use these details for one purpose: to read and respond to your enquiry. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us about our services, and — where a conversation progresses — taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract.

We do not add enquiry contacts to a marketing list, and we do not sell, rent or share your details with third parties for their own purposes.

Who processes it

Enquiries submitted through either form are delivered to our business inbox using an email delivery provider acting as our processor. The website itself is served by our hosting provider. Both process data on our instructions only.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and to maintain a record of business conversations, and we delete it when it is no longer needed for those purposes.

Your rights

You have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to our use of it, and to data portability where applicable. To exercise any of these, email privacy@mallangangsoftware.com.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection, at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this notice

If we change how this website handles personal data, we will update this page. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
